Head Nurse of Clinical Services

Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Clinical Services, The Head Nurse of Clinical Services this position is responsible for ensuring that the programs and services delivered are consistent with Gloria Nelson Clinic and that the highest quality of customer service is provided for our communities, supporting their ongoing eƯorts to maintain and increase occupancy.

Required Experience for Head Nurse of Clinical Services

  • Ideally possesses a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Registered Nurse
  • 5+ years of operations and supervisory/management experience in clinical management
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements and manage a budget
  • Excellent communication skills and compassion for patients, staff, and the community

Primary Responsibilities for Head Nurse of Clinical Services or HNCS:

  • Act as main point of contact for floor clinic matters, while working alongside Management and Supervisors for successful operation of clinic
  • Attend Internal Management Meetings as required
  • Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our patients
  • Be part of the development to increase the profitability and efficiency of the clinic
  • Communicate the clinic mission, vision, values, and goals to all staff.
  • Foster a sense of enthusiasm, self-worth and team spirit among the clinic.
  • Liase with each of the clinic manager/supervisor to ensure coordination of activities and pursuit of common goals.
  • Contribute as needed in the negotiation of contracts or agreement terms, reviews contracts, and other legal documents, and coordinates with Legal counsel concerning legal matters, alongside with the SDCS.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement and communicate alternate methods of operating among the supervisors.
  • Monitor the performance of each supervisor in relation to the goals of the property; foster their professional development.
  • Assist in planning new initiatives and future direction for the Clinic
  • Assist in the development and the implementation of internal policies and procedures covering clinical administration, finance, safety, etc.., ensuring compatibility with district policies. Consult with relevant district executives and staff to develop and implement internal policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Monitor new policies with the clinic to ensure perpetuity companywide.
  • Ensure coordination and consistency of quality service throughout the clinic.
  • Monitor effectiveness and cost efficiency of operating policies and procedures.
  • Partner with HR to update and maintain office policies as necessary.
  • Assist as needed in the contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers and office lease
  • Review monthly variance reports and financial statements with SENIOR DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES and Senior Directors and address any budget variances.
  • Monitor labor costs and hours and address concerns and action plans with SENIOR DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES
  • Assist as needed in the Monitor and respond to summary reports of operational and financial statistics, including monthly reporting package.
  • Responsible for clinic supervisors with dotted line to clinic staff.
  • Be part and supervise, review, and evaluate the performance of the GNC staff with SDCS.
  • Review and recommend GNC bonuses, Capital Expenditures (CapEx) amounts, and large accounts payable checks prior to release with SDCS.
  • Help Monitor GNC accounting and internal controls and practices.
  • Ensure the SENIOR DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES is informed of major issues and make suggestions and presentations for change and improvements at GNC.
  • Work closely with the SDCS to plan, develop and streamline processes within the office
  • Review clinic’s budgets and ensure they are in good order from field and acceptable prior to submission.
  • Work with SDCS and Physical Plant to develop CapEx plan for each assigned city and obtain approval for related expenditures.
  • Monitor the Employee satisfaction survey is completed and communicated at each assigned city.
  • Monitor action plans are created and followed.
  • Attend approved conferences/seminars and identify clinical industry trends.
  • Attend approved seminars/webinars to help identify clinical industry trends
