Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Job Description

North Kern South Tulare Healthcare District is looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who will assist in providing exceptional patient care to the residents of our Delano District Skilled Nursing Facility.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physicians.
  • Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
  • Review medications and completeness of information.
  • Accurately transcribe physician’s order, initiate, and update care plans.
  • Complete and file recordkeeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, transfer and/or discharge
  • Contributes to the attainment of DDSNF’s mission to provide distinctly high quality of care for our residents in a respectful and loving manner.
  • Takes vital signs and measurements (i.e., height/length and weight) as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to perform nursing procedures for which the vocational nursing course has provided the necessary degree of skill and judgment; performance shall be limited to those acts for which he or she has been prepared.
  • Knowledge of accepted procedures for disposing of used supplies.
  • Ability to observe the general physical condition of patients to detect signs of abnormalities.
  • Ability to record observations completely, accurately, legibly, and concisely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and over telephone.
  • Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment in dealing with people.
  • Ability to accept/follow supervision and work independently as needed.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak and understand the English language.
  • Must have excellent work ethic, patience tact, and enthusiasm.
  • Must have a current and valid LVN license
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including having received the booster shot.

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed to practice as a vocational nurse in the state of California.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the physical ability execute the full performance of the duties of the position.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving may be required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.

Salary:

Salary: $27-$33 per hour

  • 8 Hour Shift
